I prefer to always fly when I go out of town. I’d rather fly than drive, or take a train. When I went out last summer I found that I couldn’t stand being in a car like that for so long–it’s just soooo weird.

Great post. I like to point out that most people can bareboat for the price of a luxury cruise vacation or less. But unlike a cruise vacation, you can avoid crowds, travel at your own pace, and get to experience a destination in depth instead of just a few hours. Charterers can also book directly though the bareboat operator or use the services of a charter broker. Some people prefer brokers because they do not have to pay anything (the broker is compensated with a comission from the bareboat company), they get the same rate they would if they had booked it directly, and they get the brokers advice and expertise.
